Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's Lacrosse Tops DeSales 11-4

The St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team completed a perfect week in Clearwater, FL on Thursday with an 11-4 victory over DeSales University.

With the win, Fisher improves to 2-0 overall while DeSales moves to 1-2.

The Cardinals offense exploded in the first quarter for five goals to take a 5-0 lead.   Gary Bova started the run more than four minutes into the contest off an assist from Dante Giordano.  Giordano picked up a goal of his own for Fisher at the 8:34 mark to make it 2-0.

Tim Wagner chipped in a goal for Fisher with just :10 seconds remaining in the period to push Fisher's lead to 5-0.

The Cardinals made it six unanswered goals midway through the second half when Matt Colicchia scored off a connection with Matthew Condon.

DeSales went over 25 minutes before registering its first goal, then added another shortly after to cut the Cardinals lead to 6-2.

Tanner Swan launched a pass from the goalie position to assist a tally to Collicchia late in the quarter to give Fisher a 7-2 lead at the half.

In the third quarter, Fisher upped its lead to 9-2 off unassisted goals from Andrew Rosso and Wagner.

Condon scored an early goal in the fourth quarter to go along with Scott Kershner scoring his first-career goal late in the game.

Fisher's defense was busy as they faced eight extra man opportunities, stopping all but one.

Wagner and Collicchia finished with two goals apiece, while Rosso, Condon, and Giordano added a goal and an assist.

Swan improved to 2-0 on the season, making eight saves in 52:15 of action.  Justin Townsend and Zach Knight also saw some time in net, with each registering a save.

Fisher returns to action at 4 pm on Tuesday, when it will travel to The College at Brockport for non-conference action.
