The St. John Fisher College women's basketball program cruised to an 86-50 win over Wells College on Friday night in the first game of the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Invitational at Fisher's Manning & Napier Varsity Gym.

With the win, the Cardinals, currently receiving votes in the D3hoops.com national poll, improve to 3-0.  It is the best start to a season since the 2006-2007 campaign when Fisher the season off 4-0.

Wells falls to 3-2 with the loss.

Fisher jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the game's opening moments and never looked back. 

The Cardinals led 23-11 after the opening quarter and pushed their lead to 43-20 at the half with nine different players getting into the scoring column over the first 20 minutes.

Fisher shot 65.4% from the floor over the final two quarters to pull away. 

Senior Mary Kate Cusack led the way for Fisher, scoring a team-high 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the flooring, including a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.  She also added a team-high seven steals.

Sophomore Caroline Robertson came off the bench to tally a career-high 13 points.  She was also one of three players to finish with a team-high five rebounds.

Emily Piacentini was 4-for-4 from the floor and finished with nine points a team-best five assists.

Sophomore Jessica Rhone scored nine points off the bench, while junior-transfer Maria Kelleher added six points and three assists.

Nicole Robinson scored all eight of her points in the first half and added five rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

Freshmen Erin Hulbert and Alyssa Robens each enjoyed their best games at the collegiate level.  Hulbert totaled nine points and two steals, while Robens racked up eight points and three blocked shots (all career-highs).

Bridget Carney totaled four points and five boards, while McKenzie Bezon finished with four assists.

Fisher returns to action at 2 p.m. on Sunday and will host Union College.  The Dutchwomen will play Wells at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Fisher.
