Women's Lax Comes Up Just Short Vs. No. 8 Union

Katie Glavin tallied four points in Sunday's game at Union.
The St. John Fisher College women's lacrosse lost 19-15 on Sunday to host Union College.  The Dutchwomen, ranked eighth nationally, led by just two goals at 17-15 with just over 15 minutes to go, but held Fisher scoreless for the remainder of the game.
 
With the loss, Fisher finishes the regular season with a 10-6 overall record and will return to action at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the Empire 8 Conference Championship Semifinals.
 
In Sunday’s game, Laurie Quackenbush (Penn Yan Academy/Penn Yan) totaled three goals and one assist, while fellow senior Katie Glavin (Corcoran/Syracuse) tallied one goal and three assists.
 
Freshman Mary Stimson (Cicero-North Syracuse/Cicero) tallied a career-high three goals, while classmate Courtney Clare (West Genesee/Camillus) and sophomore Trish Scudder (Corning East/Beaver Dams) each also finished with three points on two goals and one assist.
 
Sophomores Lauren Glavin (Corcoran/Syracuse) and Jill Lockwood (Clarence/Clarence) each scored two goals, while Danielle Whyte (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Honeoye Falls) also scored.
 
Vicki Sahm (Bishop Ludden/Syracuse) stopped eight shots in goal for the Cardinals.
