Cardinals Fall to SUNY Geneseo

Fisher's Dani Davis recorded her first goal of the season, but it wasn't enough, as the Cardinals fell to 2-1 the Blue Knights

The St. John Fisher women's soccer team fell to visiting SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday night, 2-1.  With the loss, the Cardinals now stand at 1-1-1.

Fisher's Dani Davis (G. Ray Bodley/Fulton) headed the ball past the keeper for her first goal of the season, off of a Meagan Gee (Arkport/Dansville) pass to score the Cardinals' lone goal of the game, despite out-shooting the Blue Knights.

SUNY Geneseo forward Eileen Coyle scored both goals for her team, dribbling through defenders and chipping over the keeper for her first, and putting the ball in the top-right corner for her second goal, off of a Stephanie Bergin cross.

Sophomore goalie Ashley Martin (Marcellus/Marcellus) recorded eight saves over the 90 minutes.

The Cardinals will return to action at 3 p.m. on Saturday to take on University of Rochester.
