St. John Fisher College’s Scott Eisenmenger of the baseball team has been selected as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 28th, 2016.
Eisenmenger was instrumental in all three of Fisher’s victories last week as the Cardinals began its season 3-1 after playing four games at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational last week. The sophomore finished the week with a .385 batting average in addition to hitting two home runs, collecting four RBI and scoring four runs.
In Saturday’s contest against Franklin, the Hilton native batted 3-for-6 and hit a game-winning home run in the top of the 12th inning to propel Fisher to a 4-3 win. Then in the first game of Sunday doubleheader against Mount Union, Eisenmenger managed to drive in the games’ only two runs with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning, helping Fisher win 2-1. He later followed that up by scoring the only two runs in the second game of the day, lifting the Cardinals over the Raiders 2-1.
Fisher will continue to participate in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational all week including a 10:30 a.m. start against Ohio Northern University on Monday.
