St. John Fisher College’s Anna Marcy (Penfield/Rochester) of the volleyball team has been named as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 7, 2014.

Marcy was a force for Fisher at the net as the Cardinals posted a 3-1 week, including a win against D’Youville College for its home-opener and a 2-1 mark at the University of Rochester Invitational over the weekend.

The freshman tallied a team-high 48 kills (3.43/set) while also adding 30 digs.

The bulk of Marcy’s damage came over the weekend, starting on Friday when she posted 16 kills and eight digs in a 3-2 win over the Sage Colleges.

On Saturday, the Rochester native posted 15 kills and seven digs in a 3-1 win over Hamilton College. In the final match of the weekend, a 3-0 loss to Penn St. Behrend, Marcy registered 14 kills and a career-high 12 digs.

Fisher (3-5) returns to action at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday when it will travel to Oswego State for non-conference action.
