St. John Fisher University Athletics

Paige Willson (Griffith Institute/East Concord) of the St. John Fisher College women’s track and field team has been named the College’s female Athlete of the Week for action concluding on May 18, 2014.

Willson destroyed her own Fisher record in the shot put at the ECAC Championships in Troy with a throw measuring 13.55 meters, which was good for six points and third place overall.   That mark ranked the junior 21st nationally, which fell one centimeter short of qualifying next week's NCAA Division III Championship.

Willson, who was named Field Athlete of the Week by the Empire 8 earlier this season, has shown an affinity for breaking school records as she has continued to raise the bar time and time again in both the shot put and javelin.
