St. John Fisher College’s Paige Willson (Griffith Institute/East Concord), a sophomore on the women’s track and field team, has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 13, 2013.
Willson led the women’s team by winning the shot put with a throw of 11.16 meters, beating the next closest competitor by .31 meters. The sophomore also competed in the weight throw, achieving a 8.89 meter toss, placing her in 15th place in the category.
Willson and the track and field team will return to action on Saturday as they participate in the North Coast Indoor Track and Field Invitational in Geneva, OH.
