Morgan Mastin (Wayland-Cohocton/Springwater) of the St. John Fisher College women’s track and field team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending December 2, 2012.

At the season-opening Cornell Relays on Saturday afternoon, Mastin finished in 15th place in the preliminary round of the 60-meter dash, qualifying for the finals.

In the final round, she met the A qualifying standard for the NYSCTC Championship with an 8.26 second sprint, finishing 14th overall, the top finisher in the event for Fisher.

In addition to her performance in the 60-meter dash, she anchored the Cardinals’ 4x400 meter relay to a 17th place finish in 4:28.37 against primarily Division I competition.

Both track and field teams will return to action on Thursday when they compete in the RIT Early Season Invite.
