Cody Miller (Spencerport/Spencerport) of the St. John Fisher College football team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 14, 2012.
Miller registered a career-best performance in the Cardinals’ 21-17 victory over the visiting Ithaca College Bombers on Saturday afternoon. The junior running back rushed for 208 total yards and three touchdowns on the day, accounting for all of the Cardinal scores.
His three touchdown runs posted distances of three yards, 60 yards (his longest run of the season), and 36 yards, respectively. On a fourth-and-inches play from the Ithaca 36-yard line, Miller barreled up the middle and went into the endzone to put the Cardinals up 21-17 for good with 4:11 left to play.
Miller’s 208 yards mark the first time a Fisher running back has eclipsed the 200-yard mark in almost seven years.
For the season, Miller leads the team with 604 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns, averaging 86.3 yards per game.
Fisher will return to action this Saturday at 12 p.m. when they travel to Maryland for an Empire 8 Conference matchup against Frostburg State University.
