Freshman Megan Miller (St. Mary’s/Lancaster) of the St. John Fisher College volleyball team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 14, 2012.

In a 1-2 week for the Cardinals, Miller played a key role in the three-set defeat of D’Youville College on Tuesday. She recorded a team-high 14 digs to go along with seven kills and a match-high three aces.

In losses to Buffalo State and Daemen College on Saturday, Miller led the Cardinals with 15 kills on the day, eight coming in the match against Daemen.

For the season, Miller leads the team in kills, with over 50 more than her next closest teammate.

Fisher will return to action this weekend for three matches in the Empire 8 Crossover at Utica, beginning with Stevens at 5 p.m. on Saturday. The Cardinals will also face Ithaca College on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Hartwick College on Sunday at 12 p.m. for the opportunity to claim a bid to the Empire 8 Championships.
