St. John Fisher College’s Jennifer Lehner (Clarence/Clarence) of the women’s tennis team has been named as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 16, 2012. 

Lehner participated in three matches for the Cardinals this week, playing at both second singles and first doubles. On Tuesday, the Clarence native won her singles match at Alfred University by defeating her opponent 6-3, 6-4.

After the entire Cardinals squad was shutout by Stevens on Saturday, Lehner responded by winning both her matches against Hartwick.  The senior won her singles match 6-3, 6-1 before pairing up with Kathryn Pasier (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) to win at first singles 8-6.

On the season, Lehner is 3-1at singles and 2-2 in doubles.

The Cardinals will return to action at 4 p.m. on Tuesday when they host Utica College at Mendon Racquet Club.
