St. John Fisher University Athletics

    St. John Fisher College has named Camaryn Buckner (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Honeoye Falls) of the women’s basketball team as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 28, 2010.  She averaged 10 points and 8.5 rebounds as the Cardinals split their games this weekend in the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Invitational.

    On Saturday, Buckner scored eight points as Fisher defeated D'Youville College in the first round.  The Honeoye Falls native also recorded seven rebounds, one assist and one block.

    On Sunday, the freshman recorded her first career double-double.  She scored 12 points and snatched a career-high 10 rebounds as Fisher fell to Mount Union in the finals.  Buckner set a career-high in assists and blocks with four and two, respectively.

    On Tuesday, the Fisher women's basketball team returns to action as it hosts Roberts Wesleyan College at 8 p.m. in the first round of the Wendy’s College Classic, while Rochester and Nazareth College will play at Fisher's Bobby Wanzer Court at 6 p.m.
