Zach Dolan (Troy/Wynantskill) of the St. John Fisher College football team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 21, 2010. The Cardinals defeated RPI 56-13 in the ECAC Northwest Championship Bowl on Saturday.

Dolan led the Fisher defense that shut down the RPI offense for most of the day, only allowing 226 yards. Late in the third quarter, Dolan intercepted an Austin Caswell end-around pass and returned it 95 yards for a touchdown to make the score 56-13. On RPI’s next possession, he intercepted a Julian Schnopp pass at Fisher’s 20 yard line and brought it back 47 yards to the RPI 33. The sophomore free safety ended the day with two interceptions and one tackle in the win. His 142 total yards on interceptions is a new St. John Fisher College record.

Dolan capped off the season with 42 tackles, one fumble recovery and four interceptions.

With the win, Fisher finishes the season with a 9-2 overall record and is now 4-1 all-time in ECAC Bowl games. They reached the postseason for the eighth consecutive year and enjoyed their ninth straight winning season.
