St. John Fisher College has named Brady Yates (Greece Athena/Rochester) of the men’s golf team as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 18, 2010.

In a week in which the Cardinals placed second overall in the Empire 8 Championships, Yates led the team shooting a tournament total of 301 (75-74-76-76), including back to back 6-over-par 76 on the weekend. The first two rounds (75-74) of the Championship occurred in September.

Yates finished second individually in the final standings. The sophomore earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team with the top five finish. For the tournament, Yates posted the lowest score for Fisher on three out of the four days.

The Cardinals finish the year with four first-place finishes and five other top ten, including the second in the Empire 8, in ten tournaments this year.

The Cardinals now wait to hear if they will receive a bid into the NCAA Championships to be held on May 11-14.
