In a 2-0 week for the Cardinals during which they improved to 15-1 in the Empire 8 conference, Witte averaged 12.5 points and 9.0 rebounds, while shooting a stellar 83.3% from the floor (10-for-12).

The junior forward led Fisher with career-highs in points (19) and rebounds (12) as the Cardinals beat Utica on Friday during senior night, 73-66. During that game, Witte hit a nearly flawless 7-of-8 shots from the field, as well as making good on the only 3-pointer he took. Witte had another hot shooting night earlier in the week, finishing 3-for-4 from the floor for a total of six points while adding an additional six boards in the Cardinals’ 64-58 victory over cross-town rival Nazareth College on Tuesday night.

For the season, Witte is shooting 54.7% from the floor (52-for-95), averaging 6.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game and ranking second on the team in field goal percentage.

Fisher, now 21-4 overall and ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Division III East Region, finished its regular season and will return to action at 6 p.m. on Friday as it hosts the Empire 8 Championship. Fisher enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed, and will play the yet-to-be-determined No. 4 seed in the opening round.
