St. John Fisher University Athletics

St. John Fisher College has named Tyler McArdell (C.W. Baker/Baldwinsville) of the men’s golf team as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 27, 2009. 

McArdell shot an even-par 72 on Sunday, and was the overall individual leader of the Elmira College Fall Invitational, narrowly defeating Robbie Utinen of Durham, who shot a 73 on the day. 

The second day of play was rained out, allowing Fisher to end the tournament in first place with a combined team score of 309.

McArdell, the 2008-09 Empire 8 Rookie of the Year, placed 13^th individually in the Empire 8 Championships last weekend.

The Cardinals return to action Saturday, when they compete in the ECAC Upstate Championship.
