St. John Fisher College has named #Meagan Tubbs# of the women’s basketball team as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 1, 2009.
In Fisher’s lone game of the week, a 73-59 loss to host Ithaca College on Friday in the semifinals of the Empire 8 Conference Championship, Tubbs scored 10 points in 17 minutes of action.
The senior guard was 2-for-3 from the floor, including a perfect 2-for-2 from 3-point range, and went 4-for-5 from the charity stripe.
For the season, Tubbs, who missed seven games with a knee injury, is averaging 5.1 points per game and is second on the team in assists (2.0 per game) and is third on team in 3-pointers (14-for-51 – 27.5%). She also leads the team in free throw shooting percentage (20-for-28 – 71.4%).
In 85 career games, Tubbs has totaled 353 points and 174 assists. She also ranks in the College’s top 25 for career 3-pointers with 39.
Fisher (16-10) will find out on Monday if has been selected to participate in the ECAC Upstate Championship.
