St. John Fisher College ha named #Tim Marion# of the football team as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 16, 2008.

The junior wide receiver set career-highs in receiving yards (134) and receptions (14) in Fisher’s 36-33 overtime loss to Alfred University on Saturday. Marion also totaled 60 yards on six punt returns and returned three kicks for 64 yards for 258 all-purpose yards.
The Cardinals, who trailed 30-14 going into the fourth quarter, scored 16 points in the final quarter and had a chance to take the lead with 2:01 left in regulation, but their extra-point kick was blocked.

Fisher kicked a field goal on its opening possession of the extra period, but the Saxons answered with a 25-yard scoring pass on their first offensive play to earn the win.
For the season Marion leads the Cardinals in catches (49), yards (751), and touchdowns (five). He is also Fisher’s leading kick returner with 19 returns for 379 yards (19.9 yard average), and ranks 23rd nationally with an average 11.8 yards per punt return (23-for-272).

Despite a 3-3 start that saw the Cardinals (6-4) drop consecutive home games for the first time since 2005, Fisher rallied to win three consecutive games before the loss, and would have locked up an automatic qualifier in the NCAA Division III Championship for the third straight year with a win. Fisher was selected for a berth in the ECAC Northeast Championship and will travel to Bangor, ME to take on Husson University at noon on Saturday.
