Sean O’Brien was a proven winner during his time with the St. John Fisher College men’s basketball program from 2002-2006. As the point guard of the most successful senior class in Fisher history, Sean helped lead the 2006 graduating class to a 97-17 record, four straight Empire 8 Conference titles, four NCAA Division III Championship appearances, and an appearance in the “Elite 8” of the 2006 NCAA Division III Championship. In Fisher’s all-time career record books, Sean ranks first in free throw percentage (87.1%), second in assists (490), and 10th in points scored (1,115). As a senior, Sean became the first player in Fisher’s history to be named to the NABC All-American First Team after leading the Empire 8 in assists per game (6.4) and free throw percentage (91.2%), while also recording 12.7 points per game. Sean’s senior season concluded with the Cardinals making their first-ever appearance in the “Elite 8” of the NCAA Division III Championship as Fisher finished with a 26-4 record overall. The 2006 St. John Fisher College Male Athlete of the Year graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
