Michael Zarzycki was a two-sport standout for the Cardinals. He was a member of 1998-99 men’s basketball team that earned the No. 1 seed in the East Region of the NCAA Division III Championship and won the Chase Scholarship Tournament.
Over his four-year career with the Cardinals, the team recorded 20-plus wins each season and compiled an 86-19 overall record to become the winningest class in the history of men’s basketball at the College.
Michael averaged over 12 points and grabbed nearly nine rebounds per game during the 1998-99 season. His 232 rebounds in 1999 are the eighth-highest single-season total in Fisher history.
He is also currently ninth in Fisher history with 586 career rebounds and 18th in scoring with 978 points.
A Preseason All-American, Michael was named to the Division III East Region Second Team, NABC East Region Second Team, and was an ECAC Upstate New York All-Region selection as well.
When he wasn’t on the hardwood, Zarzycki was a key member of the men’s tennis team. He compiled a career record of 58-32, including a junior season where he posted a 22-3 overall record, while winning all but one match in singles competition.
